You will need your passport and birth certificate. (If you can´t find your original birth certificate a copy is accepted.) For those who have been married before, you will need your divorce papers or a death certificate.

- All documents must be in english or translated into english
- Marriages in the Cook Islands are legally binding worldwide
- The Marriage Registrar needs a minimum of 3 working days to
process the marriage documents, prior to the wedding day.
- Couples will need to apply their intent of marriage in person.
at least 3 days prior to their wedding.
- Minimum age 21 year. If you are younger you need a
trustworthy permission signed by your parents.

Having your wedding within the minimum required 3 days will
incur an extra fee of NZ$ 45 to the Marriage Registrar.
